Every week, the students look forward to our sessions. Last week, a student expressed her excitement for the activities and games we play. This week, a 10-year-old boy shared that during a meeting with his parents, they expressed pride in the self-improvement he has demonstrated over the past few weeks. In particular, the 5th grade boys in my group, whom I was initially worried would find our sessions boring, have reported significant growth. They indicated that they are learning to think before acting, calm their bodies when upset, and find appropriate ways to manage their emotions.\r\n\r\n\r\nI experience a profound sense of joy while facilitating these group sessions. The games we play help me feel more confident as a group facilitator. I appreciate the small intimacy of our groups, the fun we share, and the opportunity to positively impact these young lives, contributing to their emotional and mental well-being as well as their academic success.
