While many of us use technology daily for personal tasks, your support allows our students to move beyond being mere consumers of tech and become the creators of it. By integrating the Design and Drill sets and Cutebot robots, our students are developing critical spatial reasoning and computational thinking skills. In the younger grades, the simple act of using the drills—which are a massive hit—teaches fine motor control and basic engineering principles, while our 4th-6th grade students are diving deep into the world of micro-processors. Using the micro:bit to program the Cutebots has turned abstract coding concepts into tangible, moving results, making the \"magic\" behind their favorite gadgets feel accessible and understandable.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room is palpable every time the robot kits come out. For the younger students, the thrill of physically building and \"fixing\" their robots with the drills provides a sense of agency and accomplishment they don't get from a screen. Meanwhile, the older students are fascinated by the autonomy of the Cutebots; seeing a line of code they wrote translate into a robot navigating an obstacle course is a powerful \"lightbulb\" moment. We've noticed that several students who typically struggle with traditional paper-and-pencil tasks have truly blossomed with this technology.
