My project was titled \"Maximizing Opportunities to Learn as WE DO Things Together\" because I wanted every student to actively participate during instruction. Using the magnetic manipulatives on the whiteboard allows me to model math concepts while students use the same manipulatives at their tables. One memorable moment was during a lesson on fractions and equivalent fractions. As I demonstrated with the magnetic fraction pieces on the board, students were able to build and compare fractions simultaneously at their desks. This hands-on experience helped them make meaningful connections and increased their confidence in solving problems independently.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited and eager to begin using the new materials. Because I requested multiple sets of each manipulative, every student had the opportunity to actively participate and work collaboratively with their classmates in small groups. They took pride in demonstrating their thinking, sharing strategies, and engaging in meaningful mathematical discussions within their groups. Watching them confidently use the manipulatives and learn from one another reinforced the purpose of this project. It has helped create a classroom environment where students are enthusiastic, engaged, and willing to learn together. The excitement and ownership they have shown make me feel that this project has truly contributed to maximizing opportunities for learning through our \"We Do Together\" approach.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using the manipulatives to deepen our understanding of fractions, decimals, geometry, and algebraic reasoning.
