I especially enjoy seeing students encourage one another, learn from mistakes, and celebrate each other's successes. Science is all theoretical until you do what you are seeing and that's where project STEAM comes in. It's the Science and Math concepts yes, buts it's also the technology and engineering process. For my students who could still care less, I like to add the art component so they can use their gift in a scientific way. In the pictures you will see them learning about how atoms can combine to make a chemical reaction necessary for medicine to work in our body. It's easy to copy that from a PowerPoint, but they don't usually remember that. Doing it with a AlkaSeltzer, something they have taken before actually helps them to remember it and connect our lessons to real life experiences.
