These materials are used consistently during structured small‑group sessions to help students identify personal strengths, develop emotional awareness, practice positive self‑talk, and learn respectful ways to communicate with others. One especially powerful moment occurred during a self‑esteem lesson when students used the resources to reflect on what makes them unique and then practiced giving sincere compliments to peers in their group. Students eagerly shared kind words and encouraging feedback, and several who typically struggle with confidence or hesitate to speak began participating more openly. The Counselor Clubhouse has quickly become a space where students feel supported, valued, and confident as they work on social‑emotional skills that are essential for success both in and out of the classroom.\r\n When students first entered the Counselor Clubhouse and saw the new materials, their reactions were immediate and full of excitement. Many students smiled, explored the items with curiosity, and asked thoughtful questions about how they would be used during group sessions. Several students shared that the space felt \"calm,\" \"safe,\" or \"special,\" which is especially meaningful for children who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure of themselves in other school environments. The inviting setup and hands‑on materials helped establish a sense of comfort and trust from the very beginning. Even students who are typically reserved or reluctant to participate became more engaged, drawn in by the welcoming atmosphere. \r\n As we move forward, students will continue using the Counselor Clubhouse and its resources during ongoing small‑group counseling lessons focused on friendship skills, emotional regulation, problem‑solving, and conflict resolution. Students will practice setting personal and social goals, reflecting on their progress, and applying the strategies they learn in real‑life situations such as managing peer disagreements, expressing emotions appropriately, and building positive relationships in the classroom and on the playground. Because of our donors' generosity, students are gaining confidence in themselves and developing essential relationship skills that will positively impact their emotional well‑being, school experience, and future success.","fullyFundedDate":1775188786014,"projectUrl":"project/counselor-clubhouse/10141345/","projectTitle":"Counselor Clubhouse","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schleicher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4462632_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1626360646193","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/amy-schleicher"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54836","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":608,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":30,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":56,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":90.5,"schoolId":54836,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hawkes Bluff Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hawkes Bluff Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/broward-county-public-schools/hawkes-bluff-elementary-school/54836"}
