This is the first year for this classroom at our school. Therefore, we are in need of several items to help our classroom become fully functional. My students need a variety of sensory items, ranging from stress balls to iPads. These items will be used to manage student behaviors throughout the day, as well as give them a chance to manipulate items that enhance fine motor skills. Often times when a student in our class gets frustrated or upset it is hard for him/her to calm down or express how they are feeling in an appropriate manor. These items will be available throughout the day in a defined sensory area with alternative seating to provide an appropriate way to clam down. Your generous donation will improve our classroom to help eliminate behavioral issues. Less behavioral issues will result in more learning and on task time. I look forward to seeing my students use these items to help enhance their social and emotional skills.
