Field Day is always one of the most anticipated events of the school year, and thanks to your generosity, we added even more fun, excitement, and organization to the day.\r\n\r\nThe games were easily one of the biggest hits! We projected them onto our Smartboard, and students had an amazing time competing against one another in Super Smash Bros. It was so much fun watching them cheer each other on, celebrate their wins, and simply enjoy being kids together. I loved being able to provide an experience that brought so much excitement to the day.\r\n\r\nSome of the materials also proved to be incredibly helpful behind the scenes. The whistles and walkie-talkies were especially useful for my co-planner and me as we moved throughout the different Field Day activities. Being able to communicate with each other in real time helped us coordinate activities, respond quickly when we needed one another, and keep the day running smoothly. Although our students have not had an opportunity to use the vibration plate just yet, I know it will be another resource they will enjoy as we incorporate it into future movement and sensory activities.\r\n\r\nOnce again, Field Day exceeded our expectations! While students occasionally took advantage of the lawn chairs for a quick break, we were fortunate to have beautiful weather, and they were on the go for nearly the entire day. From playing games indoors to participating in activities outside, there was no shortage of movement, laughter, competition, and fun.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a Field Day that our students could truly enjoy. Technology has become an important part of how we learn each day, and having another device available gives my students even more opportunities to engage with instruction, practice new skills, and become more independent learners. We use technology throughout our school day, particularly during small-group instruction, where students practice decoding, spelling, blending words, and reading stories that can be projected onto our Smartboard for everyone to see and interact with.\r\n\r\nTechnology is especially valuable for my students with disabilities because they benefit from having multiple ways to access and practice new skills. While direct, teacher-led instruction remains an important part of our classroom, individualized learning programs allow students to continue working at their own pace and receive additional practice based on their specific needs. Students can transition from working directly with me to practicing independently on their learning programs, and many of these programs can also be accessed at home. This flexibility helps us extend learning beyond our small-group lessons and gives students another way to build their confidence and strengthen their skills.\r\n\r\nWith the addition of our Samsung Galaxy Book, we are getting even closer to our goal of having individual technology available for every student when they need it. Every new device means fewer students waiting for technology and more students actively engaged in meaningful learning.
