Your support has made it possible for us to continue celebrating the hard work, persistence, and growth of our scholars in kindergarten through fifth grade.\r\n\r\nThis project provides reward bags filled with special treats - both edible surprises and engaging fidget toys - that scholars earn as they reach key milestones. Students receive a reward bag for every 25 i-Ready Math lessons they complete and pass. Because i-Ready Math serves as both an intervention and an accelerated program, it meets the needs of learners who may be behind as well as those who are ready to move ahead. After each scholar completes a diagnostic assessment, the program creates individualized lessons designed specifically for their skill level.\r\n\r\nYour generosity helps us encourage students to stay committed to their learning. As they progress through the program - from 25 lessons all the way to 150 throughout the school year - scholars strengthen their math skills, deepen their understanding, and feel motivated by the recognition of their efforts.\r\n\r\nThe success of this initiative over the past two years has been remarkable, and we are truly grateful that you have chosen to continue supporting it. The chairs provide flexible seating options that encourage students to spend more time reading independently and with peers. This increased comfort helps reduce distractions and supports students' focus during reading time, allowing them to immerse themselves more deeply in books and build stronger literacy habits. For many students, especially those with special needs, having a choice in where and how they sit promotes autonomy and enhances motivation to participate in literacy activities.\r\n\r\nThe beanbag chairs have also contributed to a more welcoming and inclusive classroom environment. Their soft, casual design helps transform the reading corner into a calm, inviting space where students feel safe and supported. This environment encourages collaboration and peer interaction during small-group reading and discussions. Students are more willing to share ideas and participate when they are physically comfortable, which supports social-emotional learning and strengthens classroom community. The cozy atmosphere also helps reduce anxiety and behavioral challenges, particularly for students who may struggle with attention or sensory regulation.\r\n\r\nFinally, the chairs have had a significant effect on students' ability to relax and self-regulate. The beanbags offer a sensory-friendly seating option that allows students to decompress, refocus, and transition smoothly between activities. Having a designated cozy area supports emotional regulation and mindfulness, making it easier for students to return to academic tasks with a calm and ready-to-learn mindset. We're about a year into this transition, and while we've adjusted in many ways, we've continued to seek ways to bring comfort, familiarity, and joy to this temporary space. The benches have helped us do just that, providing students with a place to rest, eat lunch, reset during the day, or even engage in outdoor artwork and class projects.
