Thanks to your donation, everyday challenges regarding communication can be addressed in fun and supportive ways. \r\n\r\nThe comprehension kit provides a prep-free and student friendly tool for a range of skills. In small or whole group settings, we can identify the author's point of view, discuss the main idea, find evidence to support our opinions, and much more. Although these skills require significant comprehension skills and attention to task, they containing interesting articles to engage the students.\r\n\r\nThe large whiteboard has been used to support in the instruction of our lessons, as well as provide a division of treatment space. For instance, we can have multiple sessions from different providers running at the same time. During our sessions, it has assisted in describing the importance of how altering letters in words can change the meaning. \r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students have access to resources which will positively impact their academic experience. The funding allowed me to significantly expand our classroom library with high-interest, diverse books that reflect my students' backgrounds, cultures, and reading levels. Having access to new, engaging texts increased student motivation to read, encouraged independent reading, and sparked richer classroom discussions. Students who were previously reluctant readers began choosing books on their own and sharing recommendations with peers.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the addition of comfortable seating transformed the physical atmosphere of the classroom. By creating flexible, inviting reading spaces, students felt more relaxed, focused, and invested in their learning. The cozy seating areas helped foster a sense of ownership and community, making the classroom feel safe and welcoming.\r\n\r\nTogether, the new books and comfortable seating supported both academic growth and social-emotional well-being. Students demonstrated improved reading stamina, stronger comprehension skills, and more positive attitudes toward reading. Most importantly, the project helped create a classroom environment where students feel valued, supported, and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1763433923210,"projectUrl":"project/lets-have-fun-reading/9902406/","projectTitle":"Let's have fun reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brechemin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10327304"},{"teacherId":844733,"projectId":9813902,"letterContent":"Our class has been so excited to begin using the new resources in our daily learning routines. The markers, crayons, and colored pencils are already making a big difference during our small-group writing time. Students are using them to practice tracing letters, drawing detailed pictures to match their stories, and strengthening their fine motor skills. The Tonie Box and new books have quickly become a favorite during literacy centers and whole group story time. One special moment that stood out was watching a small group of students—some of whom typically struggle to stay engaged—sit together and listen attentively to a story on the Tonie Box while following along in the book. It was such a powerful example of how the right tools can spark focus and joy in learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces absolutely lit up. They were especially excited about the cube chairs and immediately asked if we could use them for story time. The first day we brought them out, students eagerly helped arrange them in a circle, proud to have flexible seating that felt \"just right\" for their bodies. There was a buzz of excitement as they explored the fresh art supplies and carefully chose colors for their projects. Even students who are sometimes hesitant to participate were eager to join in. The sense of ownership and pride they showed made it clear how meaningful these new materials are to them.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are building on this excitement by diving deeper into our current literacy and writing unit. Students will continue developing early writing skills by creating simple patterned books and labeling their illustrations with greater independence. We are also using the Tonie Box and book resources to strengthen comprehension skills, including identifying characters, retelling key details, and making connections to their own experiences. Our next steps include incorporating more structured small-group instruction to target individual goals, especially for students with special needs. These resources are not just tools—they are helping us create a classroom environment where every child feels supported, engaged, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1762648973944,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-in-pre-k/9813902/","projectTitle":"Literacy in Pre-K","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp844733_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1531870253736","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/844733"},{"teacherId":5461605,"projectId":9826754,"letterContent":"I am thrilled to share the incredible impact your generosity has made in our classroom! The decodable readers help them practice phonics skills in a fun and meaningful way, building confidence in their reading abilities. The literacy games make learning interactive and playful, which motivates students who may have previously struggled to engage with reading. Meanwhile, the literacy centers provide hands-on practice that reinforces skills in small groups, allowing each student to progress at their own pace.\r\n\r\nAlready, we are seeing students read more fluently, decode words more confidently, and approach reading with greater enthusiasm. It's inspiring to watch their smiles when they successfully read a new story or complete a literacy game—they feel proud and capable, and their love for reading is growing every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us make literacy learning fun, effective, and accessible for all our students.
