My students and I are schooling remotely this year. I love how my students want to participate and show their work. Being a Title I and low-income school, it used to be hard to reach parents. I would never see parents in person due to work schedules. Parent communication is much higher remotely than in classroom learning. Parents are able to pop on and ask live questions throughout the day. Attendance during the school year is often low. Due to free wifi hot spots, computers given to all the students, student attendance is up. I have created many assignments as well as created many lessons since the beginning of the year. My old lesson plans are amazing but I have paper copies of them only. I am in need of a scanner to scan the papers into the computer to give my students even more opportunity to work hard on meaningful things. Students need equal opportunity now that we are online. I would love to be able to give them this.
