These materials will help make teaching virtually more engaging for my fifth graders. Technology is a huge part of any child's life right now, but not all children have the access to applications needed for success. BrainPOP, Flocabulary, and TIME for Kids all help make students make real life connections to learning, but in a fun and engaging way. All of these applications can be used outside of school hours, in case they are unable to attend class due to unforeseen circumstances. BrainPOP and Flocabulary will help my English Language students learn the fundamentals of the English language with fun videos and games. TIME for Kids will help my students be able to read about current events happening all over the world. This information is given makes history fun and on their learning level. To make learning connections, the fifth grade team will be starting a social media take over. The fifth graders will be using the tablets to take videos, pictures, and record events happening within the school day. They will then have to use this information to update our school website with these current events. This is empowering students to be creative, while at the same time introducing them to coding and website development.
