That moment of pure wonder reminded me exactly why I wrote the grant, these are children who rarely get brand-new, beautiful learning tools, and seeing their joy made every hour of planning worth it.\r\n\r\nSince then, the resources have become the heartbeat of our classroom. The cash register is a particular favorite, even during indoor recess! Students practice making change and using polite customer language, math and social skills in one joyful package. The Touch & Read Blends & Digraphs Sentence Match and Magic-e Wand Card Set have transformed small-group phonics time; students beg to \"play wizard\" as they wave the wand and change \"cap\" into \"cape\" or \"pin\" into \"pine.\" The Write & Wipe Word Ladders and the Addition/Subtraction Puzzles are snatched up the second centers begin.
