Recently, we launched a small-group literacy project where students rotate through stations focused on vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. During one rotation, a group gathered around the new materials and used them to annotate a short text—highlighting key details, making predictions, and discussing their ideas with each other. It was incredible to see them independently applying strategies that we've been working on for weeks.\r\n\r\nThe moment the materials came out of the boxes, my students lit up. A few students literally gasped and said, \"Are these for us?\" Others immediately asked when they'd get to try them. Their excitement turned into focused engagement—they couldn't wait to dive in, explore, and use the tools to support their reading. For many of them, having high-quality, hands-on resources felt empowering.\r\n\r\n\r\nNext, students will use these materials to complete a multi-step reading project where they choose a text, track their thinking with graphic organizers, and present what they've learned to the class. We'll also be moving into more targeted small-group instruction, where these resources will help students practice skills at just the right level. Thanks to this project, I can offer more individualized support and help each student move toward their personal reading goals.","fullyFundedDate":1760384135377,"projectUrl":"project/materials-for-intensive-reading-instruct/9823649/","projectTitle":"Materials for Intensive Reading Instruction!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kahler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp518173_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1455496326216","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-kahler"},{"teacherId":10308818,"projectId":9817823,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for funding and sending the materials for our early literacy project. Your generosity has brought invaluable resources into our classroom that are already making a big impact on our young readers.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic phonics letter kits have become a favorite among students during small group work and literacy centers. Being able to manipulate the letters as they sound out words has helped solidify their understanding of phonics and phonemic awareness. It's amazing to see their confidence grow as they build and read words independently.\r\n\r\nThe decodable readers have also been a game-changer. These books are the perfect match for where our students are in their reading journey. They feel successful and proud when they can read an entire book on their own. Watching their faces light up with pride is truly priceless.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we now have engaging, hands-on tools that meet our students at their level and help foster a love for reading. Your kindness and belief in our classroom means more than words can say.","fullyFundedDate":1760376055937,"projectUrl":"project/early-literacy-fun/9817823/","projectTitle":"Early Literacy Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Horning","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10308818"},{"teacherId":4610088,"projectId":9314332,"letterContent":"\"It will be indoor recess today,\" is music to my students ears!
