The materials that you purchased for us have been greatly appreciated by the students. I recently switched from 5th grade to 1st grade special education, so I was in need of beginning reader books. The students that I work with struggle with basic reading skills are often self-conscious about it. The Developing Decoders and Phonics Skill-Building Books are a perfect way to reinforce phonics patterns and develop confidence in my beginning readers. The students have also been enjoying the Snap and Build Phonics activity. It makes learning phonics fun and hands-on for them. They have mastered CVC words and have started using the digraphs and blends to practice the patterns that we are learning in class. Some of my students struggle with writing, so this is a great stress-free and fun way for them to practice using their knowledge of sounds to spell words. \r\n\r\nAlthough many of the items purchased are for academic purposes, we also received some games for the classroom. The students especially love the marble maze and the Hedbandz game. Games are great activities because they help the students with their social skills, specifically taking turns and displaying good sportsmanship. We have charts for the students, and they can earn stickers for things such as completing a task. The games and marble maze are favorite rewards for when they've completed their chart. For students who struggle with communicating, the marble maze has become a great activity that encourages them to interact with their peers. \r\n\r\nReading books is a favorite activity in our classroom, so we appreciate your contributions to our classroom library. The students especially love Pete the Cat, so the easy reader books in that series are a great choice. One student started out the year refusing to participate in classroom story time. Now that student not only enjoys having stories read to him but also has been willing to start reading some on his own. The Pete the Cat books have been instrumental because he really enjoys that series, so it helps provide motivation for him to read independently. \r\n\r\nThe National Geographic books have also been a big hit in the classroom. They are perfect for teaching the students about nonfiction. We are going to reading the book about penguins and using it to complete a research project. The bright photographs and clear text make these books easy for struggling readers to understand. We also love how they include so many different text features. The students spend lots of time identifying these features and how they help them comprehend the book. \r\n\r\nStudents in my class struggle with social and communication skills. The set of social skills board games is great because it addresses topics such as empathy, showing emotions, manners, managing emotions, morals, and friendship. Because the students are playing a game, they are more cooperative and willing to talk about these social situations. The games are great because they can be adapted for various age groups. We appreciate your contribution to our classroom. The materials are helping students learn the life skills that they need to interact with other people and be successful in the world. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. Our learning experience is better this year because of your contributions.","fullyFundedDate":1760822674679,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-for-young-learners/9837801/","projectTitle":"Literacy for Young Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Huffman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10315747"},{"teacherId":1862117,"projectId":9837893,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping us bring new books into our classroom. Students use interactive reading apps that support comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary growth, helping them become more confident readers. The whisper phones have also been a wonderful addition—students use them during phonics lessons to hear themselves read, improving their decoding and blending skills. Even simple tools like classroom timers have made a big difference, helping students with social-emotional needs manage transitions, stay focused, and build independence. Together, these tools create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.\r\n\r\nThe new products have brought an extra level of excitement and motivation to learning. Students love using the iPad for engaging activities that feel more like games than lessons, and it has become a favorite station during small-group time. The whisper phones make reading practice more interactive, and students enjoy using them because they can instantly hear their progress. One student who used to rush through reading now takes his time, proudly listening to his own fluency improve. Another student who struggles with focus uses the timer to help manage her work sessions and transitions more calmly. It's been inspiring to see how these new tools not only enhance academic growth but also build confidence, self-awareness, and joy in learning. I can't thank you enough for your generous donations—these tools have truly made a difference in my students' learning, confidence, and joy in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1760790916063,"projectUrl":"project/building-strong-readers-in-my-inclusive/9833523/","projectTitle":"Building Strong Readers In My Inclusive Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Morgan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10314004"},{"teacherId":5455293,"projectId":9816424,"letterContent":"I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of my third-grade classroom literacy project. The new chapter books have sparked excitement for reading and have encouraged even reluctant readers to dive into stories. The dry erase clipboards have made small-group work and interactive lessons more engaging, while the floor cushions have created a welcoming reading nook where students love to curl up with a good book and listen during whole group instruction.\r\n\r\nYour donation has truly enriched our learning environment and helped nurture a love of reading among my students. Your generosity has made a meaningful and lasting impact on the daily lives and learning experiences of my 4th-grade students.\r\n\r\nThis project focused on bringing flexible seating chairs into our classroom—a small shift with the potential for transformative change. Many of my students struggle to stay focused or comfortable in traditional hard plastic chairs. For some, it's a matter of attention; for others, it's about meeting sensory needs or simply having the freedom to move their bodies in healthy, productive ways.\r\n\r\nFlexible seating allows students to take ownership of their learning environment, choose what works best for them, and feel more engaged and comfortable. When students have options—like wobble stools, floor seats, or cushioned chairs—they're more likely to stay focused, collaborate with peers, and develop a stronger sense of responsibility and independence.\r\n\r\nThese chairs support a variety of learning styles, promote self-regulation, and help foster a classroom community that values comfort, flexibility, and choice.
