My students have to watch videos and it gets difficult with all the noise in the room. Now they can listen without hearing others' videos at the same time. The Power On! books are great - the students follow along during the year. While they are experiencing their first year in high school, the characters in the book have those same experiences so my students can know they aren't alone in their feelings. \r\nI use the laminators for activities so I will be able to reuse them from year to year with different groups.\r\n\r\nMy students and I appreciate the donations from Donors Choose. The generator was the perfect fit for what we needed. \r\n\r\nFirstly, it has enough power and supply to meet our needs in the present, and has set us up for success for the future. Right now, we are using the generator to power our electrical equipment in the front ensemble, which includes the piano, bass, and guitar, along with the PA system we use to amplify these instruments. The generator is powerful enough to run all of these instruments, as well as the PA system for plenty of time, which gives us ease of mind knowing it will be sufficient for us to perform our halftime show. Additional ease of mind comes with knowing there is no gas involved! No added fuel costs, no danger of carrying gas around to festivals and away games.\r\n\r\nIn the future, we plan to expand our front ensemble with more microphones for the mallet instruments and a mixer. Both of these require power, and the generator has more than enough power to sustain these added elements when we reach that point.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, it helps other members in the band as well. Students have an app on their phone, the \"UDB app,\" that is used to find their positions on the field in rehearsals. Students must have their phones charged so they can participate effectively in rehearsals, and the generator has many USB ports. If their phone dies, this allows students to plug their phones in for a few minutes and get right back into the rehearsal. In the past, a student whose phone had died needed to use someone else's. Now, they can quickly charge their phone and get back into the rehearsal.\r\n\r\nLastly, it is relatively light. This is extremely important, as cart we use to house the generator and piano is already relatively heavy. The generator adds some weight, but our students are still able to move it on the cart with ease. \r\n\r\nAgain, on behalf of the band, I cannot express my gratitude enough to the DonorsChoose community. We are very thankful, and hope that you can make it to one of our games to come see the show!","fullyFundedDate":1750895648952,"projectUrl":"project/marching-band-in-need-of-safe-reliable/9374636/","projectTitle":"Marching Band in Need of Safe, Reliable Power","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sidilau","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9931070_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x147,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747942033877","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9931070"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_44503","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":714,"numTeachers":56,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"8 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.5,"schoolId":44503,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brandywine High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brandywine High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/delaware/brandywine-school-district/brandywine-high-school/44503"}
