We are practicing comprehension strategies like making predictions, asking questions, and identifying key details. Many of the books introduce richer vocabulary, stronger sentence structures, and diverse perspectives, which help students think more deeply about characters, themes, and real-world connections. We're also using the texts to model fluency, expression, and discussion skills—students are learning how to talk about books with evidence and confidence.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and joyful. You'll often see students reading independently, partnering up to discuss a chapter, or gathered together for read-alouds where we pause to think, laugh, and reflect. The new books have increased student engagement—more students are choosing to read during free time, and conversations about books now spill into transitions and lunch discussions.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously hesitant readers have been especially excited. One student proudly finished their first full book cover-to-cover, while another can't wait to recommend favorites to classmates. Seeing students light up as they find books that reflect their interests and experiences has been incredibly rewarding. Your support didn't just provide books—it helped build confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of reading. We focus on building comprehension and vocabulary while encouraging discussion, reflection, and sharing ideas. We use most of the phonics toolkits for daily intervention. We use the phonics word work mats to create words every day. They are durable and exciting for the kids to use. They love how colorful they are too! Since my students are early readers, we were able to add books to our library. They were so excited to get new books and talk about treating them well. Many of the phonics games are being used weekly to reinforce skills. Their favorite games so far are Splash! and the word-building seed game. Students ask to play that one all the time, all while practicing their phonics skills.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students in our lessons are learning the aw sound, which they love practicing creating words on magnetic boards. The paddle set is perfect since it helps with learning how to write new sounds as well as count the number of sounds within a word. They were curious, engaged, and eager to explore how each resource worked. Many students expressed that the tools made math feel more approachable and fun, and they couldn't wait to use them during lessons. The hands-on nature of the materials instantly increased engagement and motivation across the classroom.\r\n\r\nStudents are also using the STEM materials to design and build objects, allowing them to work creatively while collaborating with peers.
