Frustration tolerance levels are typically low, emotions run high, and each day brings different challenges and hurdles!\r\n\r\nBy providing my students other alternatives in which to deal with the complexities and challenges within our emotionally-charged classroom (noise-cancelling headphones, therabands for energy release while seated), my students are now able to feel more empowered and able to make better choices about what they need in the moment, more independently and without adult intervention. We continue to work to empower to ignore the behavior of their peers, but in the meantime, they now have easy, accessible solutions to access in order to help them to succeed in spite of any frustration! I truly appreciate your support of my students!","fullyFundedDate":1769148918892,"projectUrl":"project/noise-shout-just-block-it-out/9998575/","projectTitle":"Noise? Shout? We are so lucky that you took the time to read about all the wonderful learning we are doing every day! The materials that you donated help us every day to focus and be comfortable.\r\n\r\nWe now have enough headphones that we do not need to share. That means, at any moment in the day, students can block out the distraction to focus on their activity. Students on their own use the headphones every day during reading. It allows them to focus in on their story and join their characters are wonderful adventures. We are currently reading historical fiction, so students are transported to new worlds every day! The headphones help with that!!! They use them throughout the day and even during indoor recess when the room is extra extra loud!\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for the yoga balls! Since there are only four and so many were eager to sit on them, as a class we created fair rules, so everyone has a chance to sit on them. In addition to helping students focus and be comfortable on the floor, it brings excitement to the day. When they come into the classroom and realize it is their day for the donut yoga ball, they are always excited. (They are also eager when classmates are absent so they can try to get an extra day!) It has been a wonderful experience to watch the class work together to determine the fair rules and expectations for using the donut yoga balls. Especially since they know, if not used correctly it may pop!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for showing us kindness!","fullyFundedDate":1767903414693,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-calm-learning-environment/9706130/","projectTitle":"Creating A Calm Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Staines","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7599361_orig.jpg?crop=2448,2448,x0,y277&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1602439948187","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7599361"},{"teacherId":7599361,"projectId":9998526,"letterContent":"I am so grateful for your kindness and support! Prior to receiving your donation for wobble stools and desk shields there was so much tension between students. They each wanted to sit on the wobble stools as well as have desk shields. We tried a variety of ways to share the tools, but there was always a number of frustrated students. \r\n\r\nYour donation has allowed each student to use a desk shield whenever they want. There is no more sharing! Students can even use 2 if they need a larger workspace. The wobble stools have allowed more access to flexible seating options, so students are not sitting at a desk and chair all day. Students take their wobble stools with them everywhere in the class when it is their day for it. \r\n\r\nWhen they saw the items arrive, they were so relieved! They especially loved the arrival of the chair bands. Students have been creative in how they can use the chair bands to meet their needs for movement during learning activities. They are no longer distracted by each other and the fidget items that used to come into the classroom and cause distractions. The chair bands provide appropriate stimulus input for students. We are grateful you took the time to read about us and donate! We love to use the wobble stools and chair bands for activities that require siting, such as reading.","fullyFundedDate":1768478468535,"projectUrl":"project/movement-and-mindfulness-classroom-tool/9998526/","projectTitle":"Movement and Mindfulness: Classroom Tools for Better Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Staines","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7599361_orig.jpg?crop=2448,2448,x0,y277&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1602439948187","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7599361"},{"teacherId":5325071,"projectId":9561314,"letterContent":"Words cannot express the sincere gratitude that I have for the generous donations that helped make this project come to life. Every donation, large or small, helped this project. \r\n\r\nEvery time a new package came, my students said that it felt like Christmas, especially being around the holidays. When a student saw the 100-pack of colored pencils, he said, \"I didn't even know they made this many colors!\" Believe it or not, this has been the biggest hit for the students. They loved creating works of art with these new colors. We were able to turn learning multiplication and division facts into creating snowy scenes and snow globe creations. Not one student complained about the math because of the fun that was to follow. \r\n\r\nFor me, having the dividers and wipes was the best gift. As you know, this season has brought some pretty significant cases of cold and flu. Knowing that I was able to sanitize materials at the end of each day brought peace of mind. I share a room with another teacher, and it is often hard to block out the distractions. Students were inquisitive when they saw a 6-foot-tall structure being built. This now acts as a barrier between the two sections and blocks out visual distractions, helping all students focus better. I am also able to use it as a writing area to hang needed anchor charts.\r\nThank you again for your continued support!","fullyFundedDate":1764731320893,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-start/9561314/","projectTitle":"Fresh Start","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Collins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5325071"},{"teacherId":5325071,"projectId":9212678,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations.
