When we unrolled the new carpet, the kids literally cheered! Our classroom is a student-centered, community focused environment. \r\n We come together each morning for our Family Meeting, which allows us to share worries, questions, and accomplishments. We work on our communication skills and also focus on our social-emotional development. It is amazing how much the rug has made this focus a more enjoyable and comfortable area that fosters additional creativity, cooperation, and collaboration amongst our community.\r\n Our reading resources were also thrilling to receive. Some of our students were able to utilize the whisper phones and new headphones with the microphones during our state testing. The headphones made their dictation much less frustrating, which allowed them to work more confidently. And, the pointers are a fun way for them to track while they read!\r\n Finally, the laminator has been used so much for us to prepare our student notebooks for our Language Based Classroom next year. The headphones were useful on our chromebooks for testing. They were comfortable and simple to use. With good behavior, we're also able to use them to listen to calming music when working. \r\n\t\r\nThe charging stations have been a game changer! We began with an exploration of magnetic properties at our Sensory Table. Younger students enjoyed combining different forms and testing their magnetic response. Grade 2-4 artists worked together to create cities using the cubes and magna tiles along with bells, metal trays and magnets. First grade artists echoed conversations from math by making number stacks and patterns.\r\n\r\nHaving a large set of the Plus-Plus interlocking toys is amazing because we can save small builds from one week to another. One popular make are characters for created environments using blocks and the colorful planks.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping to expand our Architecture Center offerings.
