When I stepped into my role as math curriculum coordinator, I quickly realized that our geometry classes did not have enough basic instruments—such as rulers and protractors—for students to actively engage in lessons. Nearly half of our students are considered high needs and are unable to purchase these materials on their own, which meant students often had to share or rely solely on teacher demonstrations. Thanks to this fully funded DonorsChoose project, every student now has access to the required tools, allowing them to take ownership of their learning and engage meaningfully in daily activities.\r\n\r\nThe impact in the classroom has been immediate and powerful. Students are more confident, more engaged, and better able to collaborate and apply geometric concepts through exploration and practice. Instead of watching from the sidelines, all students can now measure, construct, and investigate alongside their peers, creating a more equitable and inclusive learning environment. Your support has removed a significant barrier to learning and has helped ensure that all students—regardless of circumstance—have the opportunity to succeed. Thank you for investing in our students and in the quality of their education.","fullyFundedDate":1762267648951,"projectUrl":"project/geometry-classes-need-geometry-resources/9867469/","projectTitle":"Geometry Classes Need Geometry Resources","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Roben","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9462444"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43552","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1308,"numTeachers":111,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":56,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":43552,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shelton High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shelton High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/shelton-city-school-district/shelton-high-school/43552"}
