The arrival of our arts and crafts supplies, sensory toys, and social-emotional books has fundamentally changed the energy in our room. When a student feels overwhelmed, they now have the tools to manage those big feelings in healthy ways.\r\n\r\nHow your gift is being used daily:\r\n\r\nThe Calming Corner: The Pawz Calming Pup and sensory toys have become essential \"reset\" tools. Students are learning to recognize when they need a moment of mindfulness before a small frustration turns into a big problem.\r\n\r\nCreative Expression: Using the playdough and art supplies, students are \"sculpting\" their feelings and painting their worries, making abstract emotions something they can see, touch, and talk about.\r\n\r\nSocial Connections: During play with the blocks, I've watched students practice real-time problem-solving and empathy as they learn to share space and respect each other's ideas.\r\n\r\nLiteracy with Purpose: Our new social-emotional books have sparked deep conversations about what it means to be a good friend and how to treat others with respect.\r\n\r\nOne of the most moving moments this week was seeing a student walk over to our new feelings chart, identify that they felt \"frustrated,\" and then independently choose a sensory toy to help them calm down. That is a life skill that will serve them long after they leave my classroom.\r\n\r\nYou didn't just buy \"stuff\"; you invested in the emotional intelligence of the next generation.
