The Lee & Low Teen Mental Health Bundle has been especially impactful, as students are drawn to stories that reflect real-life challenges they can relate to. These texts introduce important themes such as resilience, empathy, and self-discovery, allowing us to have meaningful discussions about identity, mental health, and belonging. Reading in our classroom now looks more interactive and personal. Students not only practice comprehension and critical thinking but also connect emotionally to characters and situations that mirror their own experiences.\r\n\r\nThe addition of calming tools and SEL resources has also created a safe space for students to regulate their emotions and return to learning with focus. The Calm Strips and emotion plush toys are frequently used during transitions or when students feel overwhelmed, helping them practice self-awareness and coping strategies. Books like A Kid's Book About Empathy and A Kid's Book About Belonging have sparked thoughtful conversations about how we treat ourselves and each other, and many students have shared how these lessons help them navigate friendships and conflicts. One student, in particular, has been especially drawn to the belonging text, sharing how it made her feel more confident about her place in the classroom community.\r\n\r\nOverall, these resources have made our classroom a place where students feel seen, supported, and ready to learn. Donors' generosity has given my students tools not only for academic success but also for their personal growth, skills and lessons they will carry with them far beyond middle school.","fullyFundedDate":1744290645862,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-learning-can-be-fun/9090181/","projectTitle":"Social Emotional Learning Can Be Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Imani","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7847361"},{"teacherId":8428059,"projectId":6996156,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our geometry classroom!
