The students were so thrilled when they saw the packages, and we opened them up together. We used the Accelerate Learning Language Activity Journal to develop letter/sound correspondence and use sentence frames to develop meaningful sentences. Students then shared their written pieces with the class.\r\nThe puzzles and centers were utilized to pair students to work collaboratively. I am happy to say that every student moved on to First grade, and I have never felt more confident about a group of students moving on. They are smart, have many problem-solving strategies, work well with others, and are independent in their learning process. And the icing on the cake is that they know how to voice any issues at hand or help someone who does not.
