These erasers make it easy for students to erase their boards without wasting paper towels. We have been able to increase our soccer ability by now having actual targets to aim for on a soccer net, instead of a strung-up hula hoop, along with brand new nets to use instead of using cones or tape on the wall. This has helped to increase student ability and knowledge. The safe foam soccer balls has allowed us to play authentic-style soccer games since we do not have to worry about students getting hit by a hard ball, or having to use a non-soccer foam ball. My students were so excited to know that someone out there wants to make sure they receive the best PE experience possible. The students have really expressed their interested in learning and playing volleyball so being able to purchase new and safe equipment has been the most important part! I began teaching the students about the importance of learning how to bump/set an object into the air, then eventually keeping it into the air with repeated hits. We used scaffolding learning by starting with a balloon, progressed to a beach ball, and finally ended up using a softer-style volleyball. Only the 6th graders made it to use the actual Volleyball, however it was still a massive success since we were able to introduce to the students an entirely new game. The small trampoline seems to be the biggest 'hit,' as it seems like there is always a line for who is going to use it next. The gel pad has been a great addition to the small sensory corner that is in the gym. This equipment has been an important addition to our gymnasium because there wasn't much that was being used specifically used for our special education PE classes.\r\n\r\nThe student's have been so excited being able to try things out for the first time. Many of them are using the trampoline and ball pits for the first time, or don't have the opportunity to play with often, so they remain the favorites. Fellow teachers and I created an obstacle course for the students to run throughout the blacktop of our school. We spray painted different activities and movements to promote physical fitness and most importantly; fun! It has been a great joy being able to watch the students move around during their recess. \r\n\r\nI think the best part of the experience was being able to see the faces of the kids as they arrived at school the day after this project was done. You would have thought they took a trip to Six Flags with how excited they were. This obstacle course also helped brighten up our school blacktop by adding over 5 different colors, and an area for students to draw with multi-colored chalk to breathe even more life into our school.
