We use them throughout the day for small-group instruction, centers, and independent learning. My students are able to move their bodies while still staying engaged as we practice math, do our writing, and work through new reading skills. For many of my first graders, having that little bit of movement makes it much easier to stay focused and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe students were incredibly excited when they first saw the new chairs. They immediately noticed all of the different colors and could not wait to try them out. It has been fun watching them learn that flexible seating is not just something fun, but also a tool they have that helps their body and brain do their best work.\r\n\r\nThese chairs have given my students another option for movement, focus, and comfort, and we are so grateful to have them in our classroom. I believe that hands on learning is more impactful than just reading and completing worksheets about the eye. Our third graders will be able to dissect a cow's eye this fall with the supplies. They will get to see the lens, cornea, optic nerve and so much more. This is their first experience of dissecting an animal part. It is important for them to have good equipment and a good experience with it. \r\n I remember my first time teaching about it and I am still impressed by all the different parts of the eye and how impressive the human body is! \r\nHaving these supplies will enable the students to have gloves the correct size and sharp scissors.
