My students were very appreciative of these supplies. I'd say the biggest hit was the sensory tool stickers, and I was able to give one to each of my students. They put the stickers on their laptop or their water bottle and they were such a hit that students I didn't even teach were finding me in the halls to ask for them. \r\n\r\nStudents also really appreciated the comfort items for the room- the standing pads that give them something comfy to stand on during speeches was something students commented on as being beneficial. One thing that really surprised me was how important the air purifier turned out to be. I had a young man with extreme phobias about germs and smells and, in his other classes, would have meltdowns and storm out of classes when he felt unsafe in that area. In my class, I was able to keep him in the room all the time. This was HUGE and never would have been able to happen without your support.","fullyFundedDate":1732717251301,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-in-the-classroom/8730446/","projectTitle":"Mental Health in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bratschun","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5539182_orig.jpg?crop=609,608,x0,y10&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1610388331584","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5539182"},{"teacherId":9224301,"projectId":8563040,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for this donation. Our students are really excited to have the opportunity to use a brand new incubator in class. When it arrived, many of the students had no idea what I was setting up. This quarter we did not get a chance to use the incubator at this point, but we did go through research projects on what we can use it for. Many of the students are really excited to swab different surfaces and grow bacteria from that. Another group is ready to start different plant seeds in the incubator. \r\n\r\nOther resources from your wonderful donations are being used during this quarter. We did an entire unit on the human body and the students were very engaged when we looked at the squishy human body organs. They all really loved it, and it turned into a new final for the class. Based on the miniature model we had, students created a life size model of the organs, skeleton, and muscular system, which we were able to put up in a full display case in the school!\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much for your donation, and we can't wait to have more time to build lessons with the incubator.","fullyFundedDate":1727462936774,"projectUrl":"project/growing-cell-cultures-in-a-hands-on-spec/8563040/","projectTitle":"Growing Cell Cultures in a Hands-on Special Education Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Zach","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9224301"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_42468","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1409,"numTeachers":105,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":78.7,"schoolId":42468,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Poudre High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Poudre High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/poudre-school-district/poudre-high-school/42468"}
