My students appreciated having equal access to calculators during their class time as well as being able to focus on larger learning targets of finance without being bogged down with time consuming computation that they already know how to complete.\r\n\r\nOur finance class that we had the opportunity to complete during this quarter's CTE time was a great opportunity to showcase how the math that they have been learning in middle school applies to the real world. The calculators also help them learn real world skills of how to input various values into them as well.\r\n\r\nThank you again!","fullyFundedDate":1771089400714,"projectUrl":"project/calculating-our-future-finances/10079226/","projectTitle":"Calculating our Future Finances","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilcox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1458956_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758843556361","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1458956"},{"teacherId":9270188,"projectId":10164154,"letterContent":"Your incredible contribution meant so much to both my students and me. As the materials arrived, students eagerly began designing and creating, fully immersed in their own ideas. As they built their projects, they learned to improvise, adapt, and problem-solve along the way.\r\n\r\nEvery group was deeply engaged and took great pride in presenting their finished games to the school. It was a truly joyful moment to watch my students step up, lead with confidence, and invite others to participate in the games they had created.\r\n\r\nIn total, 70 students participated, working in groups to design 20 unique games. Some of their wonderfully creative (and often funny) game titles included: Spin, Grab, and Win; Color Ducklings; Gamble Ducks; Water Pong; Lucky Cup; Retro Cup; Cups of Doom; Flip N' Roll; Kick the Ball; Double __ & Y; The Aim Game; Hit the Gold; Plinkle Winkle; Gween Gween Basketball; G.O. Marbles; Carnival Cards; Jiggly Basketball; Into the Galaxy; NC Shuffle; and Theven Varmint.\r\n\r\nStudents designed their games with theoretical probability in mind. As they developed and tested their ideas, they explored how increasing the number of participants would bring experimental probability closer to theoretical probability. They also reflected on the energy they give and enthusiasm they brought to the activity, learning how to engage participants and encourage others to play in order to collect meaningful data (for their experimental probability).\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, this experience helped students build leadership skills and learn how to teach and inspire others.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your generosity made a lasting impact—my students (including myself) truly felt supported and valued through your actions. Thank you again for your kindness and support. Wishing you continued blessings in all that you do.","fullyFundedDate":1775136866823,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-math-to-life-a-7th-grade-proba/10164154/","projectTitle":"Bringing Math to Life: A 7th Grade Probability Carnival","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nouvee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9270188"},{"teacherId":1458956,"projectId":9763416,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous donation!
