Although the weather didn't always cooperate for us to be able to go outside and burn some energy, our new indoor play room allowed our preschoolers to do so. The children enjoyed the new stretches, working with the exercise bands, the agility running and tumbling on the mats. To learn to stretch and breath is rewarding for our students as they learn to navigate big emotions and the ability to get their bodies moving to feel better about themselves and the situation they might be in. We utilize these about 1X a week and their reactions have been great. Our next steps include putting out some new pictures with new stretches and breathing exercises for our kiddos to try!","fullyFundedDate":1787446129573,"projectUrl":"project/yoga-building-strength-emotional-regul/10411680/","projectTitle":"Yoga: Building Strength, Emotional Regulation and Focus in my Preschoolers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2390911_orig.jpg?crop=408,408,x396,y240&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755553831524","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2390911"},{"teacherId":10514599,"projectId":10296304,"letterContent":"When receiving the packages from our Expanding the Joy of Art and Music in the Classroom, I opened the boxes with the children. The excitement of opening the packages with such fun items really made the children's day! There was so much excitement to open and start using the art materials. For this first day we just explored the art materials. We read the books at circle time, having new fun books was just as exciting for myself as it was for the children in class. The books led to some sparks of inspiration for the children to expand what they did with the art materials. I truly enjoyed the \"mess\" that was created in the processes of the children's creations with the new materials. Children that don't usually spend much time in the art center definitely had more interest in the area. \r\n\r\nWe were able to start a music study in class and actually have instruments for the children to explore! Before we only had photos and that just is not as exciting. Many of these children do not have access to real music instruments at their homes, and had a very limited selection in the classroom. Now we have music instruments that they are welcome to touch, play and learn new skills with. \r\n\r\nOverall, the library, music and art centers are all drawing the interest of the children. These materials have definitely brought a lot of joy and laugher to our classroom and we are so very thankful for every donation that made it possible.","fullyFundedDate":1783698013797,"projectUrl":"project/expanding-the-joy-of-art-and-music-in-th/10296304/","projectTitle":"Expanding the Joy of Art and Music in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alvarez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10514599"},{"teacherId":6336297,"projectId":10119627,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to our project. I truly appreciated the support from Horace Mann. Because of your donation, the fourth and fifth grade students at our school were so excited to use the soccer ball and continue to use it everyday at recess. It's nice to see all the students playing together. All of our students understand the game and it allows our limited English speakers to interact and build relationships with all students. Your donation allowed our students to connect to each other through play.\r\n\r\nThe vocabulary cards that were donated by Horace Mann have allowed students to make connections with everyday objects, feelings and activities. In addition to allowing students associate words to objects, the vocabulary cards save time for me. They allow to spend time planning scaffolds, lessons and activities rather than spending me time searching for qualitity imagines to represent words and concepts.\r\n\r\nThank you again for funding our project.
