They come from diverse backgrounds, and each one brings a unique perspective that makes our learning community special. Despite the challenges many of them face, they consistently show up ready to learn, ask questions, and explore the world around them. That passion is what motivates me to keep finding meaningful ways to support and extend their learning in science. I see how eager they are to understand how things work, and I work hard to make sure they have opportunities that allow them to truly experience science, not just read about it.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generous support from this project, my students are now able to move beyond limited materials and into more engaging, hands-on learning experiences. They are not just listening to lessons or completing worksheets—they are actively investigating science concepts, testing ideas, and making real-world connections. This shift has completely changed the energy in my classroom. Students are now participating more, collaborating more effectively, and showing a deeper level of understanding. They are beginning to think like scientists, asking questions such as \"why does this happen?\" and \"what evidence supports this idea?\" instead of simply trying to memorize information for a test.\r\n\r\nI have already noticed a significant increase in student engagement and confidence. Students who were once hesitant to speak are now volunteering answers during discussions. Group activities have become more productive and meaningful because students are using evidence from their experiments to support their thinking. Even students who typically struggle academically are showing growth because they can now see and experience science concepts in a more concrete way. This hands-on learning has helped bridge gaps in understanding and has given many of my students a renewed sense of confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nThese resources are also helping transform our classroom into a more dynamic and interactive learning environment. Students are not passive learners; they are active participants in their education. As they work through investigations together, they are developing stronger critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They are learning how to observe carefully, analyze results, and communicate their findings clearly. They are also learning how to collaborate respectfully, listen to different ideas, and revise their thinking based on evidence. These are skills that go beyond science and will benefit them in all areas of life.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, I am seeing a shift in how my students view learning itself. They are becoming more excited, more curious, and more willing to take risks. They are no longer afraid of making mistakes because they understand that mistakes are part of discovery. This growth mindset is one of the most valuable outcomes of your support. Your generosity is not only helping them learn science content—it is helping them build confidence, resilience, and a love for learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and investing in their future. Your support is truly making a lasting impact on their education and their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1731526728839,"projectUrl":"project/project-ezperanza-hope-by-ms-maghano/8503205/","projectTitle":"Project Ezperanza (Hope) By: Ms. Maghanoy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maghanoy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9596772"},{"teacherId":9596777,"projectId":9814868,"letterContent":"My project Managing the Flame has given my students something they truly needed, real tools to understand and manage their emotions. The anger management workbooks have allowed my students to work through their feelings in a structured way, helping them identify their triggers and practice healthy responses instead of reacting impulsively. The workbooks have also been incredible guidance for me personally, giving me a strong foundation to incorporate into my groups and sparking new ideas and activities that I would not have thought of on my own. I have watched my students go from feeling frustrated and overwhelmed to having the words and strategies to express themselves. The games have made this process fun and approachable, letting my students practice conflict resolution and self-control in a way that feels safe and engaging.\r\n\r\nSomething I did not expect was just how far this project would reach beyond my classroom. The parent books have been a wonderful resource. Being able to read through them and share tools with parents has helped us continue these important conversations at home, using the same language and strategies we practice at school. When my students know that their parents understand what they are learning, it makes such a difference in how they show up each day. That consistency between home and school has been one of the most meaningful outcomes of this project, and I am so grateful to my donors for making it possible. This project has not only helped my students manage their emotions more effectively, but it has also helped build stronger connections between my classroom and the families I serve.","fullyFundedDate":1768588997030,"projectUrl":"project/managing-the-flame-an-anger-awareness-i/9814868/","projectTitle":"Managing the Flame, an Anger Awareness Initiative","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9596777_orig.jpg?crop=642,642,x0,y117&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739205280031","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9596777"},{"teacherId":9597100,"projectId":9732722,"letterContent":"My students have been thriving with the donated classroom items. One of the most memorable moments happened during a writing activity: a student who usually struggles to stay focused asked if he could use one of the new fidgets to help him \"stay calm so I can finish.\" Not only did he stay regulated, but he completed the entire assignment—something he's rarely been able to do. The stickers, glitter pens, and small snacks have also become powerful motivators during our goal-tracking and behavior check-ins. These items may seem small, but they are making a big difference in helping students stay engaged, regulated, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen students saw the material donated by you, they were thrilled. Their faces lit up when they saw the glitter pens, stickers, and especially the sensory tools. Students immediately started asking, \"Do we get to earn these?\" and \"Can I try that fidget?\" For many of them, having access to fresh, fun, and supportive materials felt like someone was cheering them on. The excitement turned into genuine motivation within minutes.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll continue using these resources to support emotional regulation, encourage positive choices, and build independence. As we work through our behavior and academic goals, students will use the incentives as part of their daily point sheets, reflection routines, and self-regulation strategies. The sensory tools will also continue to play a key role during challenging tasks, helping students stay grounded and focused.
