Your generosity has given my third grade students opportunities to be creative while strengthening what they are learning in the classroom. We have been using the paint, paintbrushes, pom-poms, and other art supplies to add hands-on, creative experiences to our lessons. Instead of simply reading, writing, or talking about what they have learned, students can now create something that represents their thinking. These materials have helped make our classroom a place where academics and creativity can come together.\r\n\r\nThe students were incredibly excited when they first saw all of the new materials! There is something special about putting brand new art supplies in front of children and telling them that they get to use them to create. They immediately began talking about what they could make and were especially excited by all of the different colors, textures, and choices. I have also loved watching students who may not always feel confident during a traditional academic task become engaged and successful when art is incorporated\\.
