About my class

This trip is an opportunity of a lifetime for our students. We would be traveling to New York City and Washington D.C. Once in Washington D.C and New York, our students will have the opportunity to explore museums, historical sites, parks, and much more! From the White House, Smithsonian Museums, tours of memorials, and multiple monuments, Washington D.C. will be packed full of educational activities. After, we will head to New York City to see historical sites such as the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial, Ellis Island, and much more! Our last part of the trip involves exploring Times Square, Central Park, and even a show on Broadway! Many of our eighth graders have never traveled out of the state and would love to see more of our country. In the classroom we have studied American History and Democracy by reading primary documents, biographies, and even through the musical Hamilton! This would be such an amazing experience for our students to experience history first-hand, as well as earn a High School credit!
