Your donation has brought so much joy, wonder, and comfort into our learning space, and the impact has already been felt in countless meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThe beautiful stone rug has transformed our classroom into a warm and inviting gathering place. Each morning, our students eagerly hurry to find their spot, settling in for read-alouds, community circles, and story sharing. It has become the heart of our room—where friendships grow, ideas are born, and confidence blossoms.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic tiles have opened up a world of creativity and collaboration. I've watched students who are still developing language skills shine as they build elaborate structures, explain their thinking, and work side by side with new friends. These tiles have become a tool for imagination, problem-solving, and joyful experimentation.\r\n\r\nYour support of our sensory tools—sensory bottles, calm-down posters, fidgets, and more—has brought a new layer of emotional safety to our room. Kindergarteners feel big feelings, and now they have gentle, accessible ways to self-regulate. I've seen students choose a fidget to calm their hands, gaze into a sensory bottle to settle their minds, or take a deep breath next to our calm-down poster. These tools are already helping children learn lifelong skills for emotional awareness and resilience.\r\n\r\nWe are also so grateful for the incredible collection of books you helped bring into our library: the ocean and animal books that spark endless curiosity, the Pete the Cat stories that bring laughter and comfort, and the Growth Mindset Big Book that has inspired rich conversations about bravery, persistence, and trying again even when things feel hard. These books are helping our students fall in love with reading—some for the very first time.\r\n\r\nYour donation is more than materials; it is hope, opportunity, and kindness made visible. You have shown our students that there are people in the world who believe in them—even without ever having met them. That message alone is powerful beyond words.\r\nThank you for investing in these young learners and for giving them tools that support their creativity, their emotional well-being, and their sense of belonging. We are deeply, truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1754546662138,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarten-where-young-minds-grow-and/9280939/","projectTitle":"Kindergarten, Where Young Minds Grow and Bloom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Grzyb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9568977"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61281","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":185,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":55.7,"schoolId":61281,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Animas Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Animas Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/durango-school-district-9-r/animas-valley-elementary-school/61281"}
