Students went for nature walks in our local park, sketch ideas after our walks and then sat with their own experiences of being in nature with their families. We used these experiences to create a piece of artwork that primarily used watercolors, beads and embroidery floss to recreate their memory of nature. During the unit I had students reflect and share how their time in nature feels in their body and to notice that this act of being present in nature calms their minds and is a type of self care. Students also learned how to sew which is also a lifelong skill.","fullyFundedDate":1741734704405,"projectUrl":"project/planting-seeds-of-love-and-selfcare/8976283/","projectTitle":"Planting Seeds of Love and Selfcare","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. RoHa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9240534"},{"teacherId":9240534,"projectId":8574359,"letterContent":"Thank you for the generous donation that helped support my students technical skills in jewelry making, sharing their ideas, and creating wearable artwork.
