Because of your generosity, our students now have access to engaging sound books and yummy snacks that have already made a meaningful difference in our daily routines.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Some of our students who are typically hesitant to participate were instantly motivated by the interactive sounds and pictures. It was such a special moment to see every child engaged and curious together.\r\n\r\nWe are using the sound books during small group instruction, circle time, and independent exploration. One of our favorite moments so far has been during story time, when students began imitating animal sounds, labeling pictures, and turning pages independently. These books have been especially powerful for our students who are working on communication, attention, and early literacy skills. The snacks have also helped support our learners by keeping them comfortable, regulated, and ready to learn throughout the day.\r\n\r\nWe will continue building on these experiences by using the sound books to support letter recognition, vocabulary development, and expressive language. We are also incorporating them into structured play and choice time to encourage independence and peer interaction.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our students are learning in ways that feel joyful, accessible, and meaningful. Thank you for believing in our little learners and for helping create moments of success that we will carry with us every day.","fullyFundedDate":1764121278376,"projectUrl":"project/reading-with-a-treat/9925702/","projectTitle":"Reading with a Treat!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lily","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9241076_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693624047894","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9241076"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41590","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":359,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":83,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.7,"schoolId":41590,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Valverde Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Valverde Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/denver-public-school-district-1/valverde-elementary-school/41590"}
