Thanks to you, my students not only had access to high-quality educational resources, but they also felt inspired and motivated to discover the world through books and stories from the past.\r\n\r\nSeeing their faces light up with curiosity as they explored new cultures, historical figures, and wonderful tales was truly heartwarming. Every single item we received made a real difference in their learning and growth. When students arrived and saw the lockers, their faces showed confusion and surprise. Once I told them these were their new lockers and everyone had one for themselves, their eyes lit up with excitement and joy. Students shared the good news with their families and exchanged impressions with each other. They certainly approved and appreciated the change. \r\n\r\nThanks to you, now every student in my class will have a special place to keep their backpack, jacket, lunchbox, or nap pillow. A welcoming space can make difficult conversations feel safer and provide a sense of security for students who may be struggling. This space has already made a tremendous impact—students are drawn to the inviting atmosphere, using it as a place to regulate emotions, engage in meaningful conversations, and find comfort during difficult moments. Families who visit now have a welcoming setting where they can collaborate and feel supported in their child's emotional growth.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped transform my office into a true safe haven, where students and families feel valued, heard, and empowered. Our 1st semester projects were a great success thanks to all our new supplies - especially supplies that allow us to explore our creativity! The supplies provided were extremely helpful to all my K-5th grade classes. Our first major projects of the year were for our Dia de los Muertos and our Winter art shows.\r\n\r\nWe celebrated both of there events by creating art pieces that reflected different cultural aspects and the traditions that all of my students have with their families. My students were able to explore their cultural heritage and show their creativity with pride both for their culture and for their works of art.\r\n\r\nYour generous donations have provided the means for us to continue creating meaningful works of art for the rest of the school year where we will continue to explore the cultures of our student body and community.\r\n\r\nStudents arrive to art excited and inspired to work together and create amazing works of art that celebrates who they are as a person and as a community. They began with a conversation with their research partners about which animal they'd like to investigate. The groups chose to study crocodiles, anacondas, and eagles. Then, the pairs began to use the indices of the books we acquired through the grant to determine which books and which pages would help them find their information. They read all they could about their chosen animal, taking notes as they went.\r\nNext, students created an informational poster using the markers, construction paper, and card stock that were donated. They chose interesting facts that they wanted to share with others, and highlighted them on their colorful posters. All of their designs also included an illustration.\r\nFinally, we held an expo in which the researchers shared their work with their classmates. The class split up and rotated around between the projects, listening as the researcher presented their poster and talked about the process they used during the different stages of the project.\r\nThanks again for supporting this project.
