When classroom teachers bring students to the Library it is important that they come to an environment that promotes their love of reading. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. Students are more motivated to make better choices when they are given a choice in their seating. When they are given more choices about where they sit, they are more engaged and do more reading than when they are just sitting at their desks. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The products; the Flex Space Comfy Chairs, JAXX Luckie Pouf Ottomans, Giant Comfy Pillows and the Quiet Time Privacy Cube will allow for additional comfortable seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the library. All these items will be set up in different areas of the library as quiet reading sections so students can always find a comfortable space to enjoy some quiet reading time. I have seen how choice can positively affect students’ decision making and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more and increase their love of reading!
