In school, technology is used intentionally and creatively—students are not simply playing games, but researching, drafting, revising, filming, coding, collaborating, and receiving real-time feedback. The iPads allow students to capture their thinking through photos, videos, audio recordings, and digital notebooks, which is especially powerful for learners who process ideas in different ways. They use the devices to create presentations, design digital projects, conduct research, and reflect on their learning. The portability of the iPads also allows for flexible grouping, quick formative assessment, and immediate differentiation, helping me meet students exactly where they are and extend their thinking in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for students is the sense of ownership and creativity the iPads provide. They light up when they realize they can publish their work, film experiments, design graphics, or collaborate with classmates in real time. Students who sometimes hesitate to share in whole-group settings have especially warmed to this technology—using audio recording tools to explain their thinking or digital drawing tools to show their understanding. A few of my quieter or more perfectionistic learners have flourished because they can revise easily and feel proud of polished final products. These iPads have not just enhanced engagement; they have amplified student voice, confidence, and independence in ways that are visible every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1747156951394,"projectUrl":"project/ipads-for-coding/9063194/","projectTitle":"iPads for Coding","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lamb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5084391_orig.jpg?crop=2160,2160,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1704937015342","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/thelamb"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69760","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":350,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":15,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"19.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.7,"schoolId":69760,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Polaris at Ebert Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Polaris at Ebert Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/denver-public-school-district-1/polaris-at-ebert/69760"}
