The moment the students walked in and saw the extra-large LED bubble tube glowing in the corner, they gathered around with wide eyes and quiet excitement. It has quickly become our \"calming corner,\" where children go to breathe, reset, and watch the floating fish as they regulate their emotions. During our morning mindfulness routine, one student whispered, \"The bubbles help my body feel slow,\" and it was one of those moments that reminded me exactly why this matters.\r\n\r\nWe've also used the new X-ray sets and wooden vehicles in our Hospital unit. During a recent exploration, students eagerly held up the animal X-rays to the window, comparing bones and guessing which picture matched which animal. Another small group spent nearly an hour examining the insects in resin, making observations like, \"This beetle has spikes!\"—the kind of focused, joyful learning that hands-on materials make possible. The dramatic play additions—the wooden cash register, multicultural baby dolls, and the baby-care set—have expanded our pretend play in beautiful ways. Children are practicing empathy and communication as they care for the dolls, feed them, and even take them to our pretend \"doctor's office\" after looking at the Broken Bones X-Rays.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our next steps include deepening our science investigation work, using the sensory tubes to explore seasonal changes and integrating the magnetic character figures into story-building activities. Your support didn't just provide materials—it opened new pathways for curiosity, imagination, and emotional growth. We are so grateful for your kindness and belief in our students.","fullyFundedDate":1757121141195,"projectUrl":"project/building-imagination-sensory-creative/9671342/","projectTitle":"Building Imagination: Sensory & Creative Learning Tools for Preschoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Drew","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp252093_orig.jpg?crop=800,800,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740879765573","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/252093"},{"teacherId":252093,"projectId":9448973,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project. The materials you helped provide are making a big difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe children are especially excited about the cameras. They've been using them to take pictures of their work, their friends, and even their favorite classroom spots. It's been wonderful to see them express themselves and take pride in capturing moments that matter to them.\r\n\r\nThe voice recorder has quickly become a favorite too. The kids love using it to tell stories, describe their drawings, or just talk about their day. It's helping build their confidence and language skills, and they're so proud when we play their recordings back during group time.\r\n\r\nMusic has become a bigger part of our day now that we have a CD player. We use it for calm transitions, dancing, and listening to stories. It helps create a joyful atmosphere and gives the children another way to connect and express themselves.\r\n\r\nThe gallery frames have turned our classroom into a space that truly celebrates student work. When the kids see their artwork displayed, they feel proud and valued. The laminator has helped us protect and save their work so it can be enjoyed all year.\r\n\r\nOne of our quieter students has really connected with the camera. He is now the \"class photographer\" and is always ready to document what's happening around him. It's helped him open up and become more engaged with his classmates.\r\n\r\nThese tools have helped us create a classroom where children feel seen, heard, and excited to learn.
