With the addition of camping stools and individual book pouches, our students now have the room and organization they need to thrive each day. The extra space allows us to transition smoothly between small groups, partner work, and independent activities without the usual crowding. Students proudly take responsibility for their materials, and when they finish their work early, they eagerly grab their book pouches and settle onto a stool to read. It has been wonderful to see them use that time productively, building their love of reading while staying engaged.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our class is embracing this new sense of ownership and independence. Students are helping reset the room, managing their supplies responsibly, and collaborating more easily than ever before. The excitement is palpable—they feel trusted, capable, and empowered in a classroom designed with their success in mind. Your generosity didn't just provide stools and book pouches; it created a functional, student-centered space where our third graders can grow with confidence. Thank you for believing in our students and helping us build a brighter future!","fullyFundedDate":1760718305978,"projectUrl":"project/seats-and-pouches-for-busy-third-graders/9436455/","projectTitle":"Seats and Pouches for Busy Third Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hobley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9234296"},{"teacherId":2724132,"projectId":9210543,"letterContent":"Our new headphones have already transformed the way my fifth graders approach reading fluency. In the past, background noise made it hard for students to stay focused, but now each child can listen, practice, and record themselves without distraction. This independence allows them to hear their own progress, which is a powerful motivator. The technology makes it possible for students to practice at their own pace while I work with small groups, giving everyone the focused instruction they need.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students has been hearing their voices come through so clearly during fluency practice. Many of them are shy about reading aloud, but with headphones, they've gained the confidence to try again and again until they're proud of their results. They love the immediate feedback and the sense of ownership over their learning. It has turned what used to be a nerve-wracking activity into something fun and encouraging.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who had struggled with focus during reading time, now eagerly puts on their headphones and dives into practice. They've even started asking to read more passages just to track their improvement. Stories like this show how much of an impact a simple tool can make. Thanks to your generosity, students are building the fluency and confidence they need to become stronger readers—and that will carry with them far beyond this school year.","fullyFundedDate":1746700880229,"projectUrl":"project/hear-speak-and-succeed-headphones-for/9210543/","projectTitle":"Hear, Speak, and Succeed: Headphones for 5th Graders!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Whittaker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2724132"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69724","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":714,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":55,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.8,"schoolId":69724,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Green Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Green Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/denver-public-school-district-1/green-valley-elementary-school/69724"}
