They learned that clay can be used for much more than following a single project example—it can be a way to explore, experiment, problem-solve, and express themselves.\r\n\r\nOnce their artwork was complete, students transformed our cafeteria into a bustling \"Mud Market\"! They created booths to display their work and used pretend money to \"sell\" their handmade pieces to visiting parents, staff, and other members of our school community. Students practiced communication, collaboration, decision-making, and even a little entrepreneurship while proudly sharing their artwork.\r\n\r\nThe Mud Market was not only a meaningful learning experience—it was **SO much fun!** The event brought our school community together and gave students an authentic audience for their creativity. Watching students proudly explain their artwork and interact with families and staff was a wonderful reminder of how powerful hands-on, choice-based art experiences can be. With limited storage space and hundreds of supplies used across multiple grade levels, the bins gave me a designated place to sort and store materials such as paper, drawing supplies, painting tools, and classroom resources. Instead of supplies becoming piled together or difficult to locate, I could clearly organize materials and keep frequently used items accessible.\r\n\r\nThis organization directly supports student success. When art materials are easy to find and ready to use, students spend less time waiting for supplies and more time creating, experimenting, and learning. Clearly labeled and organized storage also helps students develop independence and responsibility because they can more easily access, use, and return materials themselves.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these bins helped create a classroom environment where students could focus on the creative process rather than navigating clutter or disorganization. Students have been hard at work using the cardboard cutters to cut through cardboard with ease. Students have been using cardboard for a variety of choice art projects that include mask-making, alebrijes, sculptures, games, and more! \r\n\r\nThe alebrijes project was just in time for Dia de los Muertos so having the cardboard cutters was essential in ensuring the work was accessible for all students. Students then started learning about masks from all over the world. They were tasked with making a mask that represents an aspect of their personal identity and culture. \r\n\r\nThe cardboard game project is still on-going, but such a hit! Students loved watching \"Caine's Arcade\" for inspiration and set to work right away creating really neat ideas.
