Students had to choose a duck, pick the exact playdough colors, and then guide a partner — who couldn't see anything behind a folder — to recreate it using only verbal directions. It sounds simple, but watching 8th graders wrestle with giving clear instructions, listening carefully, laughing through mistakes, and celebrating those tiny \"aha\" moments was honestly the highlight of our quarter. They've called it the best activity they've done this year, and it helped them build trust with classmates they barely knew.\r\n\r\nThat one lesson alone reminded me why your donation matters so much. These aren't just supplies — they're tools that let my students connect, take risks, and see themselves as capable scientists and teammates in our advisory.\r\n\r\nI'm incredibly excited to roll out the STEM kits during our physics unit and use the moon-phase light and Earth/Sun/Moon model during astronomy. These materials will help students visualize abstract concepts, stay hands-on, and engage more deeply with the content. You've opened the door to richer learning opportunities all year long.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students, my classroom, and the kind of learning that builds both skills and confidence. For many of our middle school students, access to basic hygiene products is not always guaranteed. Having this station in our classroom has given them a safe, judgment-free place to get what they need to feel clean, confident, and cared for. It may seem like a small thing, but to our students, it means everything.\r\nThis generosity has made a real and visible difference. Their donation of hygiene items has allowed us to meet students personal needs in a way that protects their dignity and boosts their self-esteem. Students who once hesitated to participate in class discussions, group work, or even come to school regularly are now showing up more engaged and ready to learn. Confidence and comfort are powerful motivators, and when students know they have the tools to take care of themselves, their outlook on school and learning improves dramatically.\r\n\r\nBecause of these materials, I've also been able to teach lessons that go beyond academics. We've had open conversations about self-care, self-respect, and how maintaining hygiene supports mental and emotional health. These are essential life skills that help students build pride in themselves and empathy for others. The Hygiene Station has become more than a shelf of supplies it's a daily reminder that our classroom is a community that looks out for one another.\r\n\r\nThe impact has extended to the entire learning environment. With fewer distractions caused by discomfort or embarrassment, students are more focused and cooperative. Teachers have noticed improved classroom participation and a more positive atmosphere overall. It's incredible how something as simple as access to deodorant, soap, or sanitary products can have such a deep ripple effect on motivation, social interaction, and self-confidence.\r\n\r\nIn today's world, with so much uncertainty and hardship, these items have been more than helpful they've been hopeful donors have provided our students with not just products, but with a sense of care and compassion that they will remember for years to come. In a time when so many families are struggling to make ends meet, this support has lifted an invisible weight off our kids' shoulders and allowed them to focus on what truly matters: learning, growing, and believing in themselves.\r\n\r\nWe extend our heartfelt thanks to donors for their generosity and continued support in helping our students thrive. Your kindness has brought comfort, confidence, and joy into our classroom. You've reminded us all that when a community comes together to meet even the simplest needs, we create space for students to dream bigger and do their very best.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students something truly special—dignity, confidence, and the knowledge that they are cared for.","fullyFundedDate":1758806771759,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-fearless/9578479/","projectTitle":"Fresh & Fearless","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Whitten","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10170648"},{"teacherId":9230729,"projectId":8594999,"letterContent":"Your donation has made such an impact on my class.
