My students experience high levels of stress in many aspects of their lives. Whether they are learning at school or trying to learn remotely, many stressors impact my students' ability to learn with a calm mind. The majority of my students report that they do not have a quiet place to learn and concentrate within their home. Mindful coloring and glitter jars are two activities that students can use at home to regulate their minds so that they can be in a better place to learn. My students need straightforward strategies to help them de-stress and reduce anxiety. When students feel stressed, they can play our class mindful music, do some mindful coloring, or take some deep breaths while watching their glitter jars settle. This will help their overall mental health and well-being so that they can get to a place of focusing on acadmics.
