In our interactive math classroom, we are constantly learning by doing, talking, moving, and collaborating. The new materials have given my students more opportunities to work together, explain their thinking, and approach math problems in different ways. One of our favorite moments recently was using the materials during a hands-on math activity where students worked together to solve problems, check their thinking, and learn from one another. It was so fun to watch them become excited about a problem and celebrate when they figured it out!\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were immediately curious and excited. They could not wait to see what we were going to do with everything! They loved having new tools to explore and quickly realized that these weren't just \"school supplies\"—they were tools that would help them become better mathematicians. Right now, we are continuing to build our understanding of important fifth-grade math skills, including order of operations and reviewing the foundational concepts we've learned this year. Our next steps are to keep practicing, collaborating, and applying these skills through hands-on activities and interactive challenges. My goal is for every student to leave our classroom knowing that math is something they can DO, not something they either are or aren't \"good at.\" Thank you for helping make that possible for my students!","fullyFundedDate":1786803807451,"projectUrl":"project/more-than-a-classrooma-place-to-belong/10413334/","projectTitle":"More Than a Classroom—A Place to Belong","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kidd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6547247_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1563508328154","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6547247"},{"teacherId":6547247,"projectId":10383296,"letterContent":"A HUGE thank you for supporting our classroom and helping provide materials that make such a meaningful difference for my students!\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, there is nothing better than having a classroom filled with resources that allow students to learn, explore, create, and grow. Your generosity helps make that possible. These materials are more than just supplies—they are tools that help bring learning to life and give my students opportunities to engage in ways that are exciting, hands-on, and meaningful.\r\n\r\nEvery item you provided will have an impact on my students. Teachers are constantly finding ways to stretch what we have and provide the best experiences possible for our students.
