Having fresh, engaging titles on our shelves gives students more opportunities to explore different genres, discover new interests, and find stories they can connect with. These books help students strengthen important skills such as reading comprehension, critical thinking, vocabulary development, and empathy. Most importantly, they help remind students that reading doesn't have to feel like another school assignment. It can be something they genuinely enjoy!\r\n\r\nOur library serves students with a wide range of reading abilities, interests, and backgrounds. Some students are already enthusiastic readers, while others are still searching for that one book that will hook them. Whether they're diving into a graphic novel, getting lost in a fantasy adventure, or discovering something new through nonfiction, having a diverse collection makes a difference. I especially love seeing students get excited about a book, recommend it to a friend, or come back looking for the next book in a series. Those little moments are what make working in a school library so rewarding.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has helped create more of those moments for our students. A well-stocked library is more than just shelves full of books. It's a place where students can explore their curiosity, escape into another world, and develop a lifelong love of reading. Thank you for investing in our students and helping make our library a place where every reader has a chance to find something they love. The students and I had a dream to successfully complete a hands-on frog dissection and we could not have done it without your help. The frogs were the perfect specimens and each one contained so much knowledge that students couldn't help diving in for more. I still can't get it out of my mind how they found eggs in some of the frogs and how others still found tumors and were able to identify different parts of the body.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the frogs I thought they were going to faint. They were so grossed out and I thought they would maybe balk at the idea of dissection. When it came time to dissect though, they were all aboard the learning train. I've never heard a class so focused on pulling out the secrets of an animal. Most of my classes begged to go over their time and even asked if I could preserve the specimens for an extra day, just so they could investigate more.\r\n\r\nI really could not be happier with the outcome of this lab and all of the gross, yet interesting things we learned while doing it.","fullyFundedDate":1773148683485,"projectUrl":"project/actual-frog-dissection-avoid-a-digital/9996614/","projectTitle":"Actual Frog Dissection! Because of your generosity, my 6th grade social studies students now have access to a variety of books and research sources that help bring history to life. These materials allow students to explore topics more deeply, ask questions, and learn how to analyze different sources as they build their understanding of the past.\r\n\r\nWith these new resources, students are able to strengthen both their literacy and research skills while learning to think critically about history. Our end of last quarter moved so quickly this became a backburner topic on my to-do list. \r\n\r\nThese materials were used as a part of our electromagnet project and my students were thrilled to engage with portions of the project itself. We worked together to build doorbells and then used those to set off a chain reaction of materials to send a marble down a track. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw them they were a little dismayed that nothing was pre-built, but when they got to spend time working on putting the materials together they were filled with joy.
