With the supplies we've been able to reward 30+ students (and that number will continue to grow!) for their attendance at school. When students are first shown our snack area, they have made comments such as \"OOOoo!\" and \"whoa!\" with wide eyes. They are truly excited and surprised at the selection that was provided by your donation. Students have also made requests of future items to stock, which shows that they are incentivized by this project and want it to continue. \r\nThe next steps for our students will be to maintain their attendance goals at our school. We are planning to expand this program to increase supporting and encouraging students to be on time and present in their classes at school.","fullyFundedDate":1746786141479,"projectUrl":"project/perks-for-punctuality/9161584/","projectTitle":"Perks for Punctuality!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dickerson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9053436_orig.jpg?crop=218,218,x3,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741814216697","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9053436"},{"teacherId":1906495,"projectId":9394840,"letterContent":"Opening a box filled with 21st century pH meters was the one of the highlights of the start of my school year. Truly it was. It means that I was finally able to rewrite some of my acid-base titration labs so to utilize this new technology and students will have the ability to analyze data that they collected instead of data that I provided because in the past we didn't have the equipment that made this possible in an efficient manner.\r\n\r\nI have former students coming back to see me asking if they can do titrations at lunch now that they know I have access to this modern technology. One of the first things I am asked every year is whether or not we will do the lab \"where the stuff turns pink\" meaning a titration and I always do them, but the data has never been as good as I'd like. Now I don't have to worry about that. I can use the new pH meters with confidence that students will have the kind of experience I have always wanted for them. \r\n\r\nYesterday was the 1st day that students were able to use the pH meters and the excitement that students felt while being able to use moden probeware was amazing to witness. I can't wait for the full titration with them in a few weeks. Thank you all for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755537014076,"projectUrl":"project/modern-tools-for-modern-science-replaci/9394840/","projectTitle":"Modern Tools for Modern Science: Replacing Our Broken pH Meters","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Stephenson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/m-stephenson"},{"teacherId":2921741,"projectId":9145156,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! These items will enable students to continue with the work we began this year with DNA technology. The project includes replacement DNA for next year as well as a few missing lab supplies. From the last project, I wrote this thank you which still applies for this project: Students were very engaged in using new technology that they had never used before. Students were diligent in the lab and learned how to use new technology of gel electrophoresis along with using micropipettes. They filled in their lab reports and used phone cameras to take pictures and see the DNA move through the gel. Students learned how to figure out where confiscated ivory tusks came from using DNA from the tusks to map to known populations of elephants. This is an important tool in elephant conservation. My students need to understand endangered species and conservation biology for their AP Exam.\r\n\r\nStudents took the task seriously and were diligent in learning the techniques. They were engaged and interested in using the equipment as it is something many students want to do in college and as a career. I overheard students say that this is what they wanted to do as a career - genetic studies/molecular biology/research etc.\r\n\r\nThey found the results exciting and new. I am so pleased this equipment will also last for many years.","fullyFundedDate":1742929027732,"projectUrl":"project/lab-supplies-for-environmental-science-a/9145156/","projectTitle":"Lab Supplies for Environmental Science and Biology","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schertz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2921741_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x360,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741221255978","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2921741"},{"teacherId":2921741,"projectId":8782269,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! The folders that were purchased are of good quality and have lasted us through the entire school year so far! Also, the fact that there are 5 different colors allows me to stay organized by using a different color for each class.
