They have been especially helpful during independent work, small groups, and Chromebook activities. The chairs give students the opportunity to move while still staying seated and focused on their learning. I've loved seeing students recognize when a wobble chair might help them be more successful and make that choice responsibly.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the wobble chairs, they were so excited! They immediately wanted to try them out and were eager to learn how we would use them in our classroom. We talked about how flexible seating is a tool to help us learn, not just something fun to sit on. They have done a great job learning how to use the chairs appropriately and sharing them with their classmates.\r\n\r\nRight now, my third graders are continuing to build their independence and stamina as learners. As we move into new lessons and projects, students will continue using the wobble chairs during independent practice, small-group instruction, reading, writing, and math. One of our next steps is helping students become even more aware of what learning environment and seating option helps them do their best work.
