At the start of this year, this was an old conference room with no decorations, activities, stations, or a space for students. With your help, we are re-vamping this space with welcoming art, calming lighting, sensory fidgets, inclusive and celebratory books, movement activities, and arts. This transformation in this space has helped us to adopt more mental health wellness and coping strategies into the fabric of our school culture and climate. \r\n\r\nIn this space, we have a Culture Keepers class where 8th graders mentor 6th graders and use the activities you have provided us to make meaningful connections. We have lunch for students to explore positive coping skills or just to take a second and find a chill space. We also have counselor-led groups and activities such as therapeutic groups, yoga, therapy dogs, and arts and crafts. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping our vision come to life and helping students explore coping strategies and mental wellness in an accessible and healthy way.
