Your kindness has truly made a meaningful impact on my students, and we are incredibly grateful.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the materials, my students have been actively using the Calm Corner tools exactly as they were intended. They are practicing the strategies that have been taught to them and independently choosing tools that help them regulate their emotions. It has been especially wonderful to see them using the sensory lights and visual rainbow timers to calm their bodies and manage their time during moments when they need support.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the Calm Corner, students absolutely love the small-group instruction materials that were donated. They were so excited to use the blackboards for name writing and letter formation, and they are already preparing to begin CVC word writing. These new materials have made small-group instruction more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable for students, and participation during lessons has noticeably increased.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw all of the materials, their excitement was immediate and heartfelt. They were thrilled to see a Calm Corner created with such intention just for them. This space now feels safe, welcoming, and empowering—a place where students can calm down, self-regulate, and return to learning when they are ready. They were also very excited about the new books! Using a reading app that brings stories to life with sounds and joyful elements, we are able to connect the donated books directly to the app, making our reading experiences engaging, interactive, and memorable.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our next steps are to continue building students' social-emotional skills alongside their academic learning. Students will practice identifying their emotions, choosing appropriate calming strategies, and reflecting on what helps them feel successful. We will also continue to integrate the books into literacy lessons and expand writing instruction during small groups, using the new materials to strengthen letter-sound knowledge, early reading skills, and confidence as writers. The Calm Corner will remain an essential part of our daily routines, helping students develop lifelong skills in self-regulation and emotional awareness.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students the tools, space, and experiences they need to thrive.
