I feel comfortable having my younger students play with toys on the cozy carpet and my older students agree that the warm lighting makes the space feel more calming than the harsh fluorescent lights. \r\n\r\n We have been able to do so many projects together! Students have made slime to use as a helpful (although sometimes messy) fidget tools, Students have made countless glitter bottles to learn how to take a mindful moment, students have made worry jars as a tool to talk about and contain some of their worries, and students have painted and made art as an expression of emotions, traumas, and fears that can be hard to verbalize.
