In their journals, students practice cutting, hole punching, peeling stickers, gluing, drawing and early writing skills. These hands-on activities help strengthen the small muscles in their hands while building confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nWe go through these materials frequently, and we truly could not do it without the support of our wonderful families. We are so happy to have paint to use in our TK classroom. In TK, we like to create masterpieces each day. This spring we are busy painting rainbows, butterflies, insects, flowers and gardens. We use paint at our easel as well as at our art table. With 20 little learners we do go through paint quickly. Thank you for supporting our project so we can refill our paint cabinet. \r\n\r\nPainting and art are important for little learners because they build many of the skills children need for kindergarten in a natural, playful way. When kids draw, paint, and create, they strengthen the small hand muscles and coordination needed for writing, while also learning to plan, experiment, and solve problems (like mixing colors through basic color theory). Art encourages creativity and flexible thinking since there's no single \"right\" answer, and it gives children a way to express emotions they may not yet have words for. It also builds confidence as they take pride in what they make, supports language development when they talk about their artwork, and helps them practice focus and patience—all through simple, hands-on activities that feel like fun rather than work.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your support. We cannot wait to use our new mailbox and stationary. We even received postal worker dress up clothes so we can really get into it. We cannot wait to build new things.
