These tools have not only supported science instruction but have also helped students regulate emotions and stay focused during learning time. The light board drawing tablet has become one of the most exciting additions to our classroom. Students use it to model math problems, illustrate story elements, and explain their thinking. Watching them confidently present their ideas while glowing with pride has been incredible. The magnetic building blocks have sparked collaboration and creativity. The excitement and focus I see during lessons has been wonderful to watch.\r\n\r\nBy contributing to this project, you've been given a glimpse into our classroom and the way young learners grow through hands-on experiences. While many people use printers at home, in our classroom this technology allows me to create clear, colorful visuals that help students better understand concepts. Color-coded math examples, reading organizers, science diagrams, and step-by-step instructions make lessons easier to follow and support students who learn best through visual connections. Having these materials readily available helps students stay organized, focused, and confident as they work.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is seeing their learning come to life in color. They love receiving vibrant reference sheets, project materials, and graphic organizers that feel special and meaningful. It has also allowed me to quickly adapt lessons to meet students' needs, providing differentiated materials that help each child succeed. Even small touches—like printing student work for displays or providing colorful checklists—have increased motivation and pride in their work.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who previously struggled to stay engaged have especially benefited from these visual supports. The color helps them track information, distinguish important details, and feel less overwhelmed by assignments. Because of you, I can create materials that are not only functional but inviting, helping every student feel included and excited to learn. Your support has added clarity, creativity, and enthusiasm to our classroom each and every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769178117571,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-learning-to-life-in-color/9883916/","projectTitle":"Bringing Learning to Life in Color!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lisonbee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10339418_orig.jpg?crop=270,270,x297,y177&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762470764454","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10339418"},{"teacherId":10339418,"projectId":9880442,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a vibrant space where creativity and confidence flourish. Students are using the new watercolors, markers, brushes, and paper during weekly art workshops that connect to what we are learning across subjects. Recently, students created Piet Mondrian–inspired artwork, using lines, shapes, and primary colors to explore balance and design. They also experimented with Wassily Kandinsky–inspired non-objective oil pastel art, discovering how colors and shapes can express feelings without representing a specific object. The new supplies allow every child to fully participate without having to limit materials, which has made a tremendous difference.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and heartfelt. There were smiles, gasps, and lots of \"We get to use all of this?\" They were eager to begin creating right away. Having high-quality tools made them feel like real artists, and that sense of importance has boosted both their engagement and their confidence to try new things.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources to integrate art into literacy, science, and social studies projects. Students will create visual storytelling pieces, illustrate informational topics, and explore new techniques as they grow as both learners and artists. Your support has opened the door for meaningful expression and hands-on learning that will continue all year long. These hands-on tools allow students to focus on specific math strands we are mastering, such as place value, fractions, multiplication, and division. By using manipulatives and games, students are able to visualize concepts, practice skills at their level, and build confidence through meaningful, engaging learning experiences.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were beyond excited and eager to dive in. Many immediately asked which games they would get to try and couldn't wait for Math Brain Block to begin. Students who once felt overwhelmed by math are now more focused and motivated, while others are challenged in new ways that keep them engaged. The games have turned practice into something fun and collaborative, and the manipulatives have helped students better explain their thinking and problem-solving strategies.\r\n\r\nAs we continue working through our math standards, these resources will remain a key part of our Math Brain Block rotations, small groups, and independent practice. Starting out this year in 5th grade and having to raise funds for Outdoor School has been a challenge. The amount that we have to raise by March is close to $9,000. We have used the Cricket machine to make and sale all sorts of different custom items, key chains, pencil boxes, stickers, tshirts, etc. this has helped us tremendously.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the boxes being delivered to my classroom, they were so excited. We had been planning on what items we would make together. Students were assigned different jobs when it came to using the Cricket machine. We had students using the technology to design logos and stickers, we had students using the hot press to apply vinyl to items, and we all learned how to measure twice and cut once! Teaching students to utilize the supplies and minimize waste was also very important.\r\n\r\nWe have raised around $3800 for Outdoor school so far, mostly because of the supplies that allowed us to be creative and produce our own products to sell to other students on campus. They were genuinely thrilled to know that a community partner believed in their potential and wanted to support their learning journey. It was a powerful moment that reminded all of us just how important generosity and community support can be in education.\r\nThanks to your contribution, students were able to dive into hands-on history projects that allowed them to explore major historical events, cultures, and figures in creative and meaningful ways. From timelines, building dioramas, creating interactive presentations and replicating artifacts, the materials you helped provide brought history to life in our classroom. These supplies are not only helping us now but will also be an essential part of future projects throughout the school year.
