I told them that we were getting new books and toys that would help us become better mathematicians. They had guesses of what was in the boxes. Some of their guesses included- building blocks, new dice, and addition games. \r\n\r\nWhen we opened the packages together, they were excited to read the math books and explore the new toys. They quickly took the magnetic shapes to our magnet wall and started to build creations with them, including rockets and people. They especially loved reading the monster math book and thought that the monsters looked cute and funny and not too scary.
